Did you know childhood is the optimal age to learn a foreign language? Learn the largest mother language in the European Union through song, game, and activity. Foster the passion of language learning in your grade school students by introducing them to the joy of studying German.

Suggested grade level: 3-6 

Suggested credit: One full semester of German/foreign language/elective 

Description

Hallo Deutsch! will consist of workbook exercises, vocabulary practice, introduction to basic grammar, German culture, and pronunciation practice. We will learn through song, game, activity, and fun! The course will consist of both teacher-graded and parent-graded assignments. The purpose of this course is to give a positive first encounter with a language that heavily influences the world today.

Homework

Homework will consist of workbook pages, listening activities, vocabulary practice, speaking practice, and project work. Students of a foreign language should engage with the language on a regular basis, therefore, students should expect to spend 30-60 minutes per week doing homework and practicing German.
