One of the trickiest parts of being an educator is finding reading materials that are suitable for students.
Part of educating children about the virtues is helping them understand what virtues are and learning to identify and recognize them. But since virtue is habitual action, it is not something that can merely be taught academically; virtue has to be exercised.
Homeschooling is a long term game. We homeschool because, ultimately, we want our children to become motivated learners. This depends upon developing sound educational habits.
Not all of us are able to join a specifically Catholic co-op. Many Catholic homeschoolers participate in Protestant, ecumenical, or secular co-ops.
