This course takes students on Quests that build 6th-grade mathematical skills in Number Systems, Operations, Fractions, Ratios, Rates, Percents, and Integers. Special notes: As a GAMIFIED course, students learn through a variety of assignments that include games. This is Part One of a two-part course. Students are expected to register for Part Two as well. In addition to class instruction, there will be interactive recorded video lessons.
Math can be interesting and fun! This is a sound and comprehensive instructional journey in a gamified format. Weekly Quests include videos, class instruction, colorful textbook assignments, workbook assignments, Quizlet, & games/puzzles. During Part One of this course, students will advance and solidify their knowledge of 6th-grade mathematics, problem-solving, and vocabulary related to Number Systems, Operations, Multiplying Fractions, Dividing Fractions, Ratios, Rates, Percents, and Integer Concepts. In addition to the daily homework and making use of the tools & games mentioned above, there are weekly evaluations (8 quizzes, 4 Section Tests, and a two-part Final Exam). Following this course, your student can continue exploring the exciting world of gamified math with Introductory MS Mathematics: Gamified Level 6, Part Two.

Homework:
Each week, students can follow a detailed day-by-day Quest Schedule. Assignments include instructional videos, games & puzzles, rote practice, textbook reading & exercises, class instruction, workbook exercises, & Math vocabulary on Quizlet. Also, when there isn’t a test or exam, there is a quiz. This makes for 8 quizzes, 4 Section Tests, and a two-part Final Exam, all graded on Caravel. Students should expect to put in a minimum of one hour a day, five days a week, for the coursework. Parents should note that the answer keys in each book are for the students’ use to check themselves as they practice their daily work.
