Would you like to learn about several different types of sports and recreational activities? In this course, you will learn about pickleball, horseshoe pitching, badminton, volleyball, softball, and more! We will explore the history, equipment, rules, variations, physical requirements, and other fun details! You don’t have be an athlete to take or enjoy this course, as it is designed to teach you how to enjoy many activities that you can participate in recreationally for the rest of your life!

Prerequisite: None

Suggested grade level: 9th to 12th

Suggested credit: 1/3 semester Health Science, Physical Education, or Social Studies

Materials and Homework

Course materials: Recommend (not required): The Sports Rules Book, 9781492567592 (https://amzn.to/3dmPzns) – Available used inexpensively, but make sure you purchase the 4th edition.

Homework: Daily quizzes that cover the information taught on the previous day. Quizzes are computer-graded for immediate feedback. Total out-of-class homework per day is 1-hour max.
