“Nonsense poetry” isn’t just a whole lot of fun — it’s a wonderful way to learn poetic meter, form, and imagery and enjoy the sound and thinking skills that go into the creative process for highly-enjoyable poetry.
Many students find poetry difficult and unenjoyable – but in this course, students will have a blast! Mr. O’Brien will present the funniest and most entertaining poems that exist and he will read them aloud in class. Students will learn from these examples the essence of poetry – rhyme, meter, imagery, etc. We will even try our hand at writing some poems in class!
We will read poems in class every week.
