Description
The internet is a complex and constantly changing environment that can be hard to navigate and figure out. Together, we will explore how the internet works and discuss the various uses of the internet that you may encounter throughout your lifetime. Each week we’ll cover a new area of the internet, from communication tools and social media platforms to research tools. In our final week, we’ll have a mini scam school that teaches you how to spot scams, both online and in person, to help protect yourself and your family in the future. This course covers everything a student needs to feel confident navigating the web on their own whether for socializing, or for academic purposes, and provides valuable information about how to use the internet safely.

Materials and Homework
Course Materials: All materials are provided free by the instructor. Quizzes are automatically graded each week by the online Moodle System.
Homework: Each week there are resources for students to look through to help provide more information on the week’s topic. There is no written homework, but there is a quiz for each class to help students test what they learned. Students will need to spend about an hour each week looking through the resources and taking the quiz.
