The internet is a complex and constantly changing environment that can be hard to navigate and figure out. Together, we will explore how the internet works and discuss the various uses of the internet that you may encounter throughout your lifetime. Each week we’ll cover a new area of the internet, from communication tools and social media platforms to research tools. In our final week, we’ll have a mini scam school that teaches you how to spot scams, both online and in person, to help protect yourself and your family in the future. We’ll also discuss tools for parents to protect their families online, and give resources for parents for further learning. Course Materials: All materials are provided free by the instructor. Quizzes are automatically graded each week by the online Moodle System.
Homework: Each week there are resources for parents to look through to help provide more information on the week’s topic. There is no written homework, but there is an optional quiz for each class to help parents test what they learned. It is expected to need about an hour each week to look through the resources and take the quiz.
