Life Lessons from Bl. Carlo Acutis

Blessed Carlo Acutis accomplished so much during his 15 years on earth. In this course you will have the opportunity to meet this young saint, whose devotion to the Eucharist inspired him to develop a comprehensive website on Eucharistic miracles.

Prerequisite: None

Suggested grade level: 7th to 12th grade 

Suggested credit: ½ semester Theology 

Description

In this course, students will be introduced to the life, times, and spirituality of Blessed Carlo Acutis. Through a series of Life Lessons, students will be challenged to apply the virtues and life of Blessed Carlo to their own lives. Each class will also include an examination of a Eucharistic miracle from Blessed Carlo’s own website.

Outline

Class 1: Introduction to Blessed Carlo Acutis and the Eucharistic Miracles Website

Class 2: Early Childhood and Family Life/Miracles of Italy (Lanciano, Siena and Cava de Tirreni)

Class 3: Devotional Life/Miracles of Spain, Portual and Switzerland (Montserrat, Santarem and Ettiswil)

Class 4: Illness/Miracles of Germany and France (Walldurn and Avignon)

Class 5: Death and Legacy/Miraculous Communions of the Saints

Class 6: Beatification Process/Modern Day Miracles: (Tixtla, Buenos Aires, Legnika)

Materials and Homework

Materials: Course materials: All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Homework: Homework each day will include a one-paragraph reflection on the Life Lesson and/or Eucharistic miracle discussed in class. There will be a final two-page reflection paper due at the conclusion of the class.
