The classes will also go beyond the facts and ask what it means to be an American, what liberty is, and how our perception of liberty has changed over our country’s history.

Class 4: The Intolerable Acts, The First and Second Continental Congresses and Battles of Lexington and Concord
Class 5: The War Begins, The Continental Army and Intelligence
Class 6: Spies (cont’d.), Siege of Boston, Battle of Long Island
Class 7: Trenton, Jefferson and The Declaration of Independence
Class 8: Declaration of Independence and the Role of Women
Class 9: Saratoga, Valley Forge, American Allies and The Continental Navy
Class 10: Yorktown, Articles of Confederation and Preliminary Articles of Peace

Homework: Students can expect to spend approx. two hours per week outside of class on homework. Short written essays, reading assignments, and final, graded by the instructor.
