LAB for Biology, Part Two

There will be 6 labs that are explicitly aligned with the Biology Part One classes. Biology Part One Labs are to be performed with minimum equipment and will consist of common household supplies.

Description

There will be 6 labs that are explicitly aligned with the Biology Part One classes. Biology Part One Labs are to be performed with minimum equipment and will consist of common household supplies. A list provided in the syllabus.

Outline

Bread Mold – We get to grow our own mold colony on a slice of bread!

Crayfish – Identify the external and internal anatomical features of a typical crustacean.

Perch – Observe the external and internal features of the fish and their relationship to one another.

Clam – Locate the external and internal features of the clam and be able to explain their purpose.

Eye – Explore the structure and function of the bovine eye.

Frog – Dissection giving the student an overview of organ systems of complex living things.

Worm – Investigate basic anatomy and simple organ systems.
