Know how to be utterly illogical and how to point this out to others. Logical fallacies are deviously rich and diverse, and you will master some of them in this course so as to never be deceived by them again.
This course gives an overview of various terms, definitions, and examples of fallacies in logic (that is, general kinds of bad arguments), with the aim to improve the student’s reasoning skills and ability to recognize logical errors whenever and wherever they arise.
Day 1: Introduction to Fallacies
Days 2 and 3: Specific Fallacies and Examples
Day 4: Conclusion and Review
Course Materials: All materials provided FREE by the instructor as downloadable PDF files.
Homework: There will be a big test at the end of the course, graded by the computer for immediate feedback. Extra Credit: Students will be encouraged to come up with their own examples of fallacies, which the teacher may present in the classroom for discussion.
