Live Psychology Classes for Homeschoolers
ADDENDUM: Homeschool Connections now offers both LIVE and Recorded psychology courses, including dual enrollment courses. Make sure to sign up early, as they often fill up and close.
One development over the past few decades of Catholic homeschooling is increasing interest in the study of psychology.
This reflects the growing appeal of psychology in society at large. The American Psychological Association reports that psychology is more popular than ever. More people are pursuing psychology in college, with psychology growing to become the fourth biggest major! It is estimated that between 1.2 million and 1.6 million undergraduates take introductory psychology classes each year. Even the number high school students taking the Advanced Placement psychology test has jumped from just 3,916 when the exam was introduced in 1992 to 303,000 as of 2017. You can find all these statistics and more cited in the APA article linked above!
With all this in mind, Homeschool Connections is happy to announce brand new exciting psychology courses for 2022-2023 with Catholic psychology professor, Dr. Kristi Moore. Dr. Moore earned her PhD in Educational and Developmental Psychology from the University of Florida and is currently an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Applied Psychology program at Angelo State University. She specializes in child and adolescent development and learning and motivation. Dr. Moore has been teaching psychology since 2009. She enjoys fulfilling her vocation as a wife and mother while her husband serves in the military. Dr. Moore and her husband are licensed foster parents and they homeschool their four children. We are super excited to have Kristi on board with us!
Dr. Moore is offering two live, interactive psychology courses in the 2022-2023 school year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Here’s what she has lined up for you. Click on the course title for registration information…
