Hostile Witnesses: What the Enemies of the Church Tell Us About Jesus

Based on Mr. Michuta’s book “Hostile Witness,” this course will explore critical attacks on the Church over the centuries.

Total classes: 8

Prerequisite: None

Suggested grade level: 9th to 12th grade

Suggested credit: 2/3 semester Theology or Apologetics. For a full semester credit, register for another theology or philosophy course. Mr. Michuta can also provide an additional reading list.

This course is based on the teacher’s latest work “Hostile Witnesses: How the Historic Enemies of the Church Prove Christianity.” We will look at the ancient enemies of Catholicism from early pagan historians, rabbinical writings, anti-Christian apologists, and even members of the Nazi party to see how they unintentionally affirm certain key truths about Christ and His Church. This course will not only demonstrate that the truth of Christianity and the Catholic Faith is sound, but it will also enhance students’ knowledge of Church history.
