Algebra 1 is a key course which sets the foundation for all future mathematics. In this course, you will learn to think more abstractly and analytically. You will write, solve, and graph linear and quadratic equations. You will learn to solve quadratic equations through factoring, completing the square, graphing, or applying the quadratic formula. This course will also study monomial and polynomial expressions, inequalities, exponents, functions, rational expressions, ratios, and proportions. Algebraic skills will be applied in a wide variety of problem-solving situations.

Honors Algebra 2 (Holt-Mcdougall) – Part 1

This class was designed with independent, self-paced, recorded learning in mind. As a classroom teacher of 25 years, I struggled watching homeschoolers get a week's worth of content condensed into a one-hour lesson (instead of five daily 1 hour lessons in a traditional classroom!). So I spent a year recording ALL of the daily lessons I gave to my Algebra 2 class in a top 10 ranked high school in my home state of Michigan. Students will be able to watch video lessons providing an overview of the concepts that will be covered each week, download daily note sheets, then view individual videos walking them through the notes in a step-by-step fashion. To ensure mastery of concepts, students will complete homework assignments from the textbook and check them with complete, worked-out solutions. Each week students will have outcome assessments in the form of Moodle-based quizzes and tests. If you want the equivalent of a 5 day per week, classroom experience, this is the course for you!
